HeartLight Center hosted Colorado Volunteers in Hospice for a "Volunteers Grieve Too" training. Volunteers from hospices across the state joined the training on self-care and how to work with families while grieving. Heartlight Center is on the steering committee and hosts the website for the Grief Networking Alliance of Colorado! GNA typically meets about once a quarter and the next meeting is on October 5th. We primarily meet in-person at locations around the greater Denver Metro area and welcome grief care providers in other areas to join us for virtual meetings when we have them. HeartLight Center ended its first donation drive in partnership with Daniels Family Funeral Services, LLC -Wyoming Chapel, Alameda Mortuary, and UrbanMama505 Kombuchery to collect art/craft supply donations for our Open HeART Studio grief support workshop and other programs. 🎨💖 These three locations served as drop-off locations for this effort, and expanded with regular support group participants bringing items to Daniels Family Funerals-Carlisle Chapel as well. This donation drive was an experiment and netted many useful items – totaling approximately the volume of 13-15 document boxes, including the personal art supplies of the deceased husband of a regular support group participant who was an artist, and this is his way of giving back.
