Thank you to Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce for having Heartland Whole Health Institute's Claude Pirtle, MD, MBA, MSACI as a panelist for the "Whole Health Redesign: Pioneering Care in Northwest Arkansas" fireside chat at the NWA Tech Summit yesterday! Cam Patterson also joined the conversation, moderated by Ryan Cork. Panelists discussed how technology and artificial intelligence is - and could be - used in health care.

Alice L. Walton School of Medicine has received preliminary accreditation status from?the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)?and expects applications to open on AMCAS by early November 2024 for its first class of 48 students, starting July 14, 2025! Further, AWSOM will waive tuition for medical school for its first five cohorts of students.

Congratulations to our friends at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art for being named on "The 20 Best Museums in America" list by The Washington Post!

National Institutes of Health Director Monica Bertagnolli visited Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley last week to tour medical institutions, clinics and facilities to better understand the medical needs the region is facing. According to Dr. Bertagnolli, academic institutions like the UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine will play a huge role in remedying the lack of healthcare providers by training future doctors and working to keep them in the region. Read more at the story below.

We're on a $700M mission with Mercy, Alice L. Walton Foundation, and Cleveland Clinic to transform healthcare.

Today, the Alice L. Walton Foundation, Mercy, and Heartland Whole Health Institute announced a 30-year, $700 million affiliation agreement in a joint effort to expand access to health care, reduce costs, and improve health outcomes in the Heartland. Cleveland Clinic will collaborate, providing world-class cardiovascular expertise to the effort. The first phase of this project will include building a new cardiac care center of excellence on Mercy’s campus in Rogers, Arkansas, and resources for additional physician recruitment. “We believe that everyone deserves quality whole health care closer to home,” says philanthropist Alice Walton, founder of Heartland Whole Health Institute and the Alice L.
