As we head into Thanksgiving, we want to share our thanks for the incredible volunteers of our Travelers Aid Chicago (TAC) program at O’Hare Airport. These dedicated individuals go above and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers by providing essential resources, referrals, and services. Their impact is undeniable. Last year alone, TAC provided information and directions to over 959,000 travelers and assisted an additional 10,000+ through Crisis Intervention, Protective Travel, and Airport Practice Experience Services. Since 1851, TAC has been a beacon of support for travelers in need. As we look ahead to a new presidential administration, we have embarked on an extensive, proactive election scenario planning process to help ensure the continuation of our mission. We remain dedicated to providing the support our program participants need, and are prioritizing their mental health, well-being, and safety. As we approach inauguration on January 20, 2025, and the first 100 days of the new administration, we will continue following our plans to support business continuity. Long before Halloween became a celebration of candy and costumes, people in these countries would go house to house in disguise, performing tricks or songs in exchange for treats. This custom dates back to the 16th century, forming the foundation of today’s Halloween celebrations.
