At Hearten Therapy, we encourage couples to consider therapy while dating as a proactive step toward building a strong foundation. Here’s why: ?? Improved Communication: Learn how to express needs and navigate conflict before unhealthy patterns take root. ?? Deeper Understanding: Explore relationship expectations, attachment styles, and personal histories that shape how you connect. ?? Stronger Conflict Resolution Skills: Address differences early so they don’t become long-term sources of resentment. ?? Clarifying Long-Term Compatibility: Therapy can help couples discern alignment in values, goals, and relationship vision. Think of couples therapy as an investment in your future together—one that can help you feel more connected, supported, and intentional in your relationship. Check out our latest blog post to learn more about why couples should consider therapy while dating! ?? ?? https://lnkd.in/gteWCex5

When people think of couples therapy, they often picture married couples in crisis or engaged partners preparing for marriage. But what if we reframed therapy as a proactive tool rather than a last resort? Couples therapy while dating isn’t about fixing something that’s “wrong”—it’s about building a strong foundation for the future. Early relationship patterns shape long-term dynamics, and therapy can help couples: ? Strengthen communication and conflict resolution skills ? Address small frustrations before they become major issues ? Gain insight into attachment styles and relationship patterns ? Navigate big decisions like moving in together or blending families ? Deepen emotional intimacy and connection At Hearten Therapy, we help couples at every stage of their relationship—whether dating, engaged, or married—learn the skills to create a healthy, thriving partnership. https://lnkd.in/gteWCex5

?? National Coming Out Day is a time to honor the courage it takes to share one’s authentic self with the world. Coming out is not just an individual journey—it’s a relational one. The process often involves navigating deep vulnerability and trust within relationships, whether with partners, family, friends, or chosen communities. At Hearten Therapy, we understand that relationships can provide both support and challenge during this process. Affirming relationships create a foundation of safety, where authenticity can be expressed and celebrated. For those in the LGBTQIA+ community, coming out is a step toward deeper connection—not only with oneself but with others who embrace and affirm your true identity. On this day and every day, we encourage everyone to foster environments where people can feel safe to be themselves, knowing that relational health strengthens mental health. Together, let’s build supportive spaces where love and acceptance thrive. ???????????? . . . #heartentherapy #nationalcomingoutday #LGBTQIA #pride #inclusivetherapy

We’re proud to share that our co-founder, Mollie Bass, LMFT, PMH-C, teamed up with Rachael Jones, LMFT, PMH-C, to present to the Long Island Doula Association (LIDA) about Nurturing Balance, a framework designed to promote equity in relationships and support perinatal mental health. We’re thrilled to see how our work with Nurturing Balance continues to resonate with professionals committed to empowering couples during the perinatal period.
I had the incredible opportunity to co-present with my friend and colleague, Rachael Jones, LMFT, PMH-C, to the Long Island Doula Association (LIDA) about Nurturing Balance—a framework we are both deeply passionate about. We initially connected with members from LIDA this past summer at the Postpartum Support International in DC, and it has been wonderful to foster this partnership and continue our shared work in supporting perinatal mental health. Together, we discussed how relationship equity can mitigate perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, touching on the often-overlooked challenges of household labor and mental load during the perinatal period. Thank you, LIDA, for hosting us, and to everyone who attended for your thoughtful contributions. Looking forward to more collaboration in the future!
