Thanks to our collective efforts, AB 1113 has been signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, marking a huge milestone in codifying California’s $4 billion ELO-P in the state education data system and collecting student-level data. We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside the incredible teams at Partnership for Children and Youth and our California Afterschool Advocacy Alliance family. Looking forward to even more state policy victories in 2025 and beyond!

As we continue our month-long celebration of #InternationalYouthDay, we’re excited to share another highlight. This year’s theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” highlights the essential role that digitalization plays in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Burberry Inspire Young Leaders Programme aligns perfectly with this theme. This initiative was designed to foster the next generation of leaders, leveraging digital platforms to bring together young changemakers around the world, amplify their authentic voices and address social issues in their local communities. Designed in partnership with Burberry Group plc and The Burberry Foundation and with the support of Burberry volunteers, the Young Leaders participate in biweekly skills workshops, learning sessions and engaging roundtable discussions on critical topics like mental health, representation, and sustainability. As part of our month-long International Youth Day Celebration, we are spotlighting our Young Leaders by sharing their insights and wisdom gained as part the Burberry Inspire Young Leaders Programme. Team SoCalGas showed up this morning for Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) 4th Annual Day of Service. Employees helped assemble backpacks, make brackets and painted rocks, as well as beautify the campus, to welcome kids back this school year. Last Saturday was truly rewarding as I volunteered with Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) for their Day of Service. Packing around 400 backpacks for youth in the Los Angeles community was an incredible experience. Witnessing individuals from various industries unite for a common mission was inspiring. A special shoutout to the dedicated HOLA team for organizing this impactful day.
