At Hear Indiana, we believe that even one child without language (whether visual or spoken), is one child too many. Hearing loss is a neuro-developmental emergency. Without access to sound or a visual language at the earliest possible moment, a child with hearing loss will quickly fall behind. Every year, hundreds of Indiana children are diagnosed with hearing loss; the vast majority of families choose Listening and Spoken Language for their children. Hear Indiana seeks to create equal opportunities for children experiencing hearing loss. Many people today aren’t aware of what is possible for today’s deaf child with the appropriate technology and intervention. We envision a day when all deaf and hard of hearing children will achieve their aspirations and thrive in their communities.

?? Today in honor of #NationalTeacherAppreciationWeek, we're #celebrating our client Hear Indiana. ?? Many of us have had a #teacher who was exceptional, who challenged us, encouraged us, and brought out our best. Great teachers help mold our children’s future every day, and that passion inspires their growth academically and personally. ?? Dana Feiner does just this. Dana is a Teacher of the Deaf supporting children needing extra attention to succeed in a mainstream environment. As an #ItinerantTeacher?she travels to provide one-on-one reading instruction, assistance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and consultative Teacher of the Deaf services to students across Indiana. ?? ?? She also facilitates #teletherapy to help eliminate barriers for families - such as travel and gas costs, missing work, scheduling conflicts, and more.
