"When studying and celebrating Black history, we often focus on learning about individual people. Yet, in most cases, when history is made, the critical work is done by groups who organize together." Fighting for Honest, Equitable, and Fully Funded Public Education.
关于我们
H.E.A.L. (Honest Education Action & Leadership) Together, initiated at Race Forward, with our partners NYU Metro Center and the Schott Foundation, is building a movement of students, educators, and parents in school districts across the United States who believe that an honest, accurate and fully funded public education is the foundation for a just, multiracial democracy. By joining H.E.A.L. Together, you will receive tools and trainings to help you organize your school and community for educational equity — countering those bringing the culture wars to our schools by banning books and censoring educators who teach honestly about race, gender, and sexual orientation. We are students; we are parents; we are educators; and, we are all people committed to strong schools and a multiracial democracy.

"Many efforts to expand voucher programs have encountered strong opposition...voters in states like Nebraska, Kentucky, and Colorado have defeated such measures by decisive margins. Despite this resistance, many state lawmakers continue to pursue proposals aimed at expanding the tax credit for higher-wage earners, allowing them to send their K-12 students to private schools." https://lnkd.in/gC_RbB5N

"We have successfully pushed my local district to allocate Almost $1 million for English as a Second Language (ESL) when, just a year or two ago, they didn't even care to allocate enough funding... This is a huge win for us. We are always trying to change the narrative." - Daniela Rodriguez of Migrant Equity SouthEast
