Super proud to share co-founder Dr Barr Hadar's paper on my and Dr Joey Goldthorpe's favorite species! Perfect timing for Cat Health Month and the DTC (Decade of the Cat!) Any tool to help prevent disease needs to be supported & explored! https://lnkd.in/gNyYc9tr

As we gear up to Fit Pets for Rescues 2025 we want to announce our new FPR poster cat! Harley lost an amazing 15 lbs using our Remote Patient Monitoring platform. He is a wonderful big "orange boy" rescued by Sandra, a board member of Madison Cat Project one of our wonderful local Madison rescues. She covered all of his expenses while he lived in Bugs Cat Gym upstairs of my clinic West Towne Veterinary Center and was coached by the one and only Spudgie! Jessica & her partner adopted him and he now lives with Buttons. They worked out all the challenges of a multiple-cat household and Buttons is slimming down nicely too! Today we celebrate his amazing journey from 28 to 13lbs and joins our Spudgie among our most successful stories! You can donate here to celebrate his success! https://lnkd.in/gry8_Wm9

Dr Barr Hadar and I want to congratulate our co-founder Dr Joey Goldthorpe for this amazing effort. It is also worth noting that those many years of experience with her own pets made her a better practicing veterinarian and now make her a great consulting veterinarian and Chief Veterinary Officer for HPC too!

A shameless plug for my wonderful partner, co-founder & CVO of Healthy Pet Connect ... Dr Joey Goldthorpe ... has launched her first book during National Cat Month (year/decade/century? ;) She has put her heart and soul into caring for cats for over 20 years. Her stories as a veterinarian working for 10 different clinics and many rescues and taking personal care of over 60 special needs cats will amaze even the most experienced veterinarian/veterinary team member. Her hope is the book will move and inspire us all to think about how we can help better care for those felis catus that need us the most while providing a rare glimpse into our profession's challenge with accessibility as well as feral/community cat issues from a veterinarian's perspective. Yes, I am beyond proud of the strength & courage she took to share her deep and personal journey with us all. Ever wonder what happens to the HPC van after VMX? (likely not!) Our co-founders head south to the Florida Keys for some much-needed R&R! This year's highlights: We met Pat, a chef and his adorable rescue from the Maui fires, so many fun people on the Bahia Honda St Park Beach on our "beach day", circumnavigated in my ocean canoe and then we snuck in a visit to the Turtle Hospital in Marathon Key one of the most amazing wildlife & eco centers I have ever been to! One of many fun facts: do you know they can tell where a turtle was born based on a blood test? Caitlin Coleman or Andria Beal, PhD can you please tell us how in the world???

Super-excited to let this particular cat out of the bag! After 2 years of effort, our amazing co-founder Dr Joey Goldthorpe has published her first book. 82 pages of stories (and beautiful cat photography) that could only be written 100% from the heart. No matter how seasoned a veterinarian, cat lover, or cat rescuer you are these stories will stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. These special lives, viewed through the lens of a highly skilled & compassionate veterinarian will move you. Bravo, Dr Joey!
It is my distinct honor as CEO to announce the first book by our amazing Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Joey Goldthorpe! Of course, I am biased, but I promise you, these amazing stories may change how you look at what is possible with the amazing feline species given a little hope, optimism, and many hours of caregiving. As an insider to the veterinary world Dr Joey shares what it is like to experience the challenges our clients face (over 60 special needs cats of her own) as a veterinarian learning all the skills necessary and having endless compassion for the cats that chose her and appreciation for her colleagues who helped her along the way. Bravo, Dr Joey! https://lnkd.in/gWs8wuSr
