Support our Ukraine Emergency Fund: https://lnkd.in/eWWUScvm HealthRight International is a global health organization that works to expand equitable access to quality health systems for marginalized communities. We employ exclusively local health experts in our field operations: this ensures our solutions are culturally appropriate and supported by local partners, leading to interventions that are impactful, cost-effective, and sustainable. Our work focuses on communities who routinely face discrimination in their home countries, including migrants, adolescents and young adults, people with HIV, survivors of gender-based violence and trafficking, vulnerable women and girls, and LGBTQ people. Currently, we operate projects in the Kenya, Ukraine, Uganda, and the United States.

Violence has many faces. They all hurt. Too often, it’s dismissed as “not serious enough.” But to change attitudes, we must speak openly and honestly about it. At HealthRight International in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health, we planted a cherry blossom garden on the “Alley of Women’s Power” in Kyiv. This living symbol honors the resilience of women who have experienced violence, showing they can heal, bloom, and move forward. This initiative, part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,” resonated deeply with our clients, partners, and supporters. Thank you to The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation, the Solomyanska District Administration in Kyiv, our incredible clients, the dedicated teams at the HealtgRight Day Center and Halfway House for Women with Children and all donors that support our work in Ukraine!
How important is advocating for child rights and participation in our work? It is among our top priorities! Hence, World Vision recently conducted a 5-day advocacy training in Chisinau, Moldova, bringing together our dedicated local partners from both Moldova and Ukraine to strengthen efforts in advocacy and child rights. Moldovan partners Centrul de Informare si Documentare privind Drepturile Copilului and Programul Educa?ional ”Pas cu Pas” joined Ukrainian partners Руки милост?, Children New Generation, ГО Д?вчата NGO Girls and "Право на здоров'я" (HealthRight International) в Укра?н? for a dynamic blend of learning, collaboration, and sharing of field experiences. World Vision's partners from Ukraine saw the programs implemented by the partners in Moldova that showcased the best practices and inspired ideas for collaborative advocacy. Facilitated by World Vision UK's Senior Protection & GESI Adviser Aimyleen Velicaria-Gabriel and Child Participation & External Engagement Advisor Marina Gutiérrez, the participants discussed child rights, participation, and advocacy across eight modules, from strategy development to influencing change in complex contexts. The partners also shared their inspiring work, learning on field visits, and formulated the joint advocacy strategic plan. ?? What child rights issues we can advocate for collectively. ?? How to engage children meaningfully in advocacy. ?? Resources, responsibilities, and timelines to drive impactful change. This effort marks a step forward for child rights advocacy in Moldova and Ukraine. ??
At the European Public Health Conference, our Ukraine team, led by Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health Executive Director Halyna Skipalska, PhD, shared strategies to address the rising cases of gender-based violence (GBV) amidst the ongoing conflict. In partnership with the WHO, since 2022, we’ve trained over 440 healthcare workers to improve GBV response in primary care. This helps raise awareness of GBV and prepare specialists working in primary health care centers to work in conditions that have changed due to the war. Together, we’re advancing global health solutions to support survivors and strengthen systems. Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e4QnhgwT #EUPHA2024 #GBVResponse #HealthForAll
