Submit feedback: https://lnkd.in/dNJYM7Yf This report examines local data that reflects the health and wellbeing of the communities that make up Frederick County. The CHNA shares the voices of residents and reveals what they think about health in our community and areas of concern. Finally, the CHNA identifies issues and health disparities and, with input from the public, narrows those community concerns into a manageable set of priorities.   • The Healthier Frederick team had an incredible time attending the Maryland Consumer Health Information Hub Convening at the University of Maryland Horowitz Center for Health Literacy! ???? We learned valuable strategies to enhance health literacy, empowering everyone in our community to understand and use health information to make informed decisions about their health. We’re so inspired to incorporate this knowledge into our work. By making health information accessible and understandable, we can promote healthier, more informed communities. ??

  • Calling Nonprofit Leaders: City and County Council Meeting on Impact of Federal Funding Policies The City of Frederick and Frederick County Councils are hosting a joint meeting to discuss the effects of federal policies under the Trump Administration on local nonprofits and the communities we serve. ?? Wednesday, March 12 ? 7:00pm ?? City Hall Boardroom, 101 N. Court Street, Frederick, MD 21701 RSVP by March 10 at https://lnkd.in/e4XK6iFz Nonprofits are on the front lines of supporting Frederick County residents, and it’s more important than ever to come together, share our experiences, and advocate for solutions. This meeting provides a platform to speak directly with local leaders about funding concerns, policy shifts, and the challenges impacting our work. Organizations are invited to send one representative to provide remarks (limited to five minutes). Those unable to RSVP may still participate during the Public Comment portion, with a three-minute time limit per speaker.     Over 160 community members and healthcare leaders gathered virtually and in person at the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Public Input Session to share insights to help guide the health priorities for the 2025-2028 Local Health Improvement Process cycle. "This is a wonderful chance for all of us to share our voices and help shape our priorities for the next Local Health Improvement Planning cycle. By coming together, we can align our goals and make a bigger impact to improve the health and well-being of our community,” said Heather Kirby, Vice President of Integrated Care Delivery & Chief Population Health Officer with Frederick Health. We appreciate everyone who participated in shaping Frederick County's health initiatives in collaboration with the Coalition for a Healthier Frederick County and the Frederick County Health Department. Thank you to those who attended and participated in this important event, including Frederick Health Board Member Denise Rollins, PhD, and Frederick Health team members, Patti Buckmaster, Lori Sprecher, Teri Heger, and Elexsis Gibson, the Executive Director of the Coalition for a Healthier Frederick County, Malcolm Furgol and The Mayor of the City of Frederick, Michael O'Connor.

    Thank you to the businesses that attended Session 2 of the Recovery is Good Business workshop series! Participants gained valuable insights on reducing stigma and using recovery-friendly resources, as well as lifesaving skills through hands-on Naloxone training. Attendees also received Employer and Employee Toolkits and an Overdose Response Kit to enhance workplace preparedness. Session 3: Sustaining a Recovery-Friendly Workplace takes place in just two days! ??
