Meet Terryiah. Terriyah was determined to make healthy choices for herself and her baby after weight-loss surgery. With regular home visits from her nurse, Terah, she received nutrition, healing, and prenatal care guidance. As her due date approached, she worked with our doula, Taylor, to create a birth plan and prepare for labor. When it came time for the delivery of the baby, complications led to an emergency C-section, and Taylor was by her side. After baby Felix V was born, Terriyah faced a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. With Taylor’s support, her husband could focus on their newborn and Terriyah without choosing between them. Thanks to this care, both mother and baby received the critical attention they needed. Our dedicated home visitors and doulas provide personalized care that makes a difference for families like Terriyah’s.

Over 13 million babies are born too soon every year, and they all deserve access to the best possible care, no matter where they are born. The grades are in! ?? Based on March of Dimes' grading scale, Healthier Moms and Babies would receive an A for having fewer preterm births. This is important because the women we serve are the community's highest-risk women. Women who go through our program are more likely to have healthy pregnancies and celebrate more first birthdays.
