In total, this costs providers over $9.8 billion annually. Caregivers face extreme time constraints, highly fragmented operating systems, and a lack of standardized information tracking protocols, all of which contribute to a high- stress environment and, consequently, a prevalence of preventable complications. But with highly trained clinical staff, incredible advances in medical technology, and an unprecedented level of patient data available, there’s no excuse for these incidents to continue. We’ve identified information transfer, particularly at times of nurse shift changes, patient transfers, and floating requirements that force nurses out of their regular units, as a target complication vector. HealthHuddle creates a controlled environment for facilitating patient handoffs, ensuring that data is not lost in individual caregiver silos. This environment presents data in line with embedded evidence best practices, allowing nurses to custom tailor data for their workflows. Additionally, quality managers can gain long-term insights into which processes produce the best and safest outcomes. With information management handled on behalf of caregivers, we intend to negate the effect of understaffed and chaotic wards and allow nurses to focus on their ultimate goal: providing care for their patients.
