It was an unforgettable evening filled with powerful performances, inspiring speeches, and meaningful connections. ???? We kicked the evening off listen to Philly Freeway’s kidney transplant journey, and the legendary Dr. Joseph Mikhael from the International Myeloma Foundation delivered a moving conversation on the importance of early detection. Shea Robinson, a breast cancer survivor and founder of Posture of a Pearl, shared her profound story, and Dr. Rob Winn gave an incredibly powerful keynote speech that truly inspired everyone in the room. We closed the evening with an electrifying performance by Slick Rick and afterparty! A huge shout out to all of our sponsors, but especially Pfizer, our top sponsor. Your generous support was essential in making this event possible. We also want to thank Sanofi, Kite Pharma, Delaware Transit Corporation, Avelo Airlines, Sonesta Hotels, and the International Myeloma Foundation for being such incredible partners in this cause. The Health, Hope & Hip-Hop Foundation is beyond thrilled to welcome the legendary Slick Rick to our inaugural Hip Hope Ball this Friday, February 28, 2025, in Wilmington, DE! ???? Slick Rick, a true pioneer in hip-hop, has been a master storyteller since the 1980s, shaping the culture with his unique flow, iconic eye patch, and timeless classics like Children’s Story and La Di Da Di. But beyond his music, his heart for philanthropy and community empowerment perfectly aligns with the mission of the Health, Hope & Hip-Hop Foundation. For years, Slick Rick has been a champion for underserved communities, using his platform to drive change. In 2020, he and his wife, Mandy Aragones, co-founded the Victory Patch Foundation, an organization dedicated to uplifting marginalized voices and ensuring that victory is within reach for all. His commitment to giving back mirrors the Health, Hope & Hip-Hop Foundation’s mission to eliminate health disparities and use hip-hop as a catalyst for positive change. As Slick Rick once said: ?? “For the past 15 years, philanthropy work has been a private passion for me. Community is where the heart is.” At the Hip Hope Ball, happening at we are bringing together music, culture, and purpose to ignite change—and having Slick Rick in the building makes this moment even more special! Join us for an unforgettable evening of Health, Hope & Hip-Hop! Let’s celebrate, inspire, and continue the movement together.
