Design firms may face challenges when seeking to help clients innovate health equity because the profession of architecture lags behind other professions in diversity. The #HCDcon panel, "Nurturing the Next Generation of Talent to Innovate Health Equity," identified current challenges and provided actionable steps any healthcare designer may employ to diversify healthcare design teams. A more inclusive design workforce fuels the innovation and diverse design ideas needed for design consultants to become valuable partners in a health system’s journey to health equity.
