Strengthening healthcare ties between Germany and Denmark ?????????? This week, we had the honour of welcoming State Secretary from the German Federal Ministry, Dr. Antje Draheim, on a high-level delegation visit to Denmark. This visit comes at a pivotal time – following the German election and ahead of Denmark’s EU presidency. With Germany preparing for an ambitious digital transformation and tackling the demographic challenges, the visit focused on learning from and knowledge sharing with Denmark in these areas. The delegation met with Danish key stakeholders - including representatives from Indenrigs- og Sundhedsministeriet, ?ldreministeriet, Sundhedsdatastyrelsen, and sundhed.dk - to discuss digital health infrastructure, European Health Data Space, and the trust-based elderly reform. They also learned about the national digital healthcare platform, discussed e-health solutions, and witnessed digital tools in action at the Adela?de care facility. Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming the newly appointed Ambassador of Argentina to Denmark, Julio Mercado, to our Copenhagen office. It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce Healthcare Denmark and discuss potential collaborative initiatives ???????? Accompanied by Head of Commercial Section, Malén Vazquez, the Ambassador learned about the Danish healthcare system, Denmark’s comprehensive life sciences ecosystem, and approach to managing chronic diseases through public-private partnerships. Denmark and Argentina share long diplomatic and economic ties, including in healthcare and life sciences, and many Danish companies are present in Argentina, working closely with local stakeholders to support a resilient healthcare system. Coleg y Cymoedd explores the Danish health system ???? ???? Today, we welcomed a delegation from a further educational establishment called “Coleg y Cymoedd”, meaning “college of the valleys”, based in South Wales, UK. Chief Advisor Ida Hvitved welcomed the delegation at our visitor centre Nation of Health in Odense for an introduction to the health system in Denmark with a specific focus on the Danish care model, while also discussing the aspect of care in the community and rehabilitation centres. Knowledge sharing between Denmark and Brazil in chronic disease management ???????? Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mark Barone, PhD, President of FórumCCNTs, to introduce Denmark’s approach to managing and preventing chronic diseases and multimorbidity through public-private partnerships. In Brazil, FórumCCNTs works to promote partnerships, raise awareness, and facilitate the exchange of best practices in the field of chronic non-communicable diseases. Mark Barone’s visit to Denmark comes as part of an international event organised by the World Diabetes Foundation, and his visit included discussions with Danish key stakeholders involved in chronic disease management, including Novo Nordisk, with whom FórumCCNTs has a close partnership. The visit also featured a tour of the Danish Life Science Cluster and a meeting with Senior Project Manager, Kirsten M. Danielsen, who introduced the Lighthouse Life Science project. This initiative involves key public and private partners and focuses on mental health and obesity. Another highlight was the visit to Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, where Head of Clinic, Frederik Persson, shared valuable insights into the centre’s unique public-private model and the pathways available for diabetes patients in Denmark. Yesterday, we welcomed a Portuguese delegation from the Municipality of Pa?os de Ferreira, led by Mayor Humberto Brito and Head of Economic Development, Patrícia Silva Castro ???? Here, the delegation met with Senior Advisor, Peter Cassimiro, who introduced the Danish healthcare system, focusing especially on Denmark’s innovative approaches to digitalisation in healthcare and elderly care, while also discussing new healthtech solutions for the “House of the Future”. The visit builds on the strong partnership between Denmark and Portugal and continues a productive dialogue initiated during last year’s 45th Anniversary of Portugal’s National Health Service conference in Lisbon.
