This past week, we welcomed community members, partners, and supporters to celebrate the opening of our Broadview Living Room—a space dedicated to providing compassionate crisis care and mental health support. Their unwavering support makes this work possible! Our Bellwood open house was a celebration of our mission to expand bilingual behavioral care and social services in the community. We were honored to welcome Mayor André Harvey, Mayor Katrina Thompson, leaders from the Bellwood Chamber of Commerce, CBHA, Proviso Township Mental Health Commission, and our amazing Community Support Team, led by LaTasha Mallory. We had a wonderful opportunity to share H.A.S.' mission, vision, and services with the Mt. Sinai community and other participating organizations at the Domestic Violence Awareness Month Resource Fair! It was great to connect with attendees who stopped by our table to learn more about how H.A.S. supports individuals and families through comprehensive behavioral health services. Thank you to Mt. October 17th is International Peer Support Appreciation Day, and we are excited to celebrate the amazing contributions of our peer support specialists at HAS! Their dedication and hard work are essential to the success of our programs and the lives we impact every day. HAS showed its appreciation by hosting a gathering at the Belmont Cragin Living Room (5001 W. Fullerton). Peers from five of our sites—Fullerton Living Room, Broadview (Living Room and CST), Armitage (Wellness West), NEXA, and Madden/Reed—were invited to join us for food, conversation, and well-deserved recognition. On October 16, 2024 HAS unveiled the Healthcare Alternative Systems (HAS) Way street sign, marking our 50th anniversary of service to Chicago and beyond!
