Goals of the Health Law Section include providing an organization within The Florida Bar open to members of The Florida Bar and others with an interest in health law and to provide a forum for communication and education leading to the improvement and development of the field of health law. Another goal is serving the bar and the public generally in interpreting and carrying out the professional needs and objectives in the area of health law.

The nonprofit Foundations to Freedom is working to fight the opioid crisis and provide people with the overdose treatment drug Narcon through vending machines in Volusia County. The vending machines in Deland and Ormond Beach provide round-the-clock access to the spray version of naloxone, which is used to treat opioid overdoses.

Tampa General Hospital has converted a portion of its Tampa General Medical Group on Lois Avenue in South Tampa into a primary care clinic that exclusively serves veterans, reservists, and National Guard members. The facility offers primary care, behavioral health, labs, and pharmacy services to reservists, guard members, and veterans. In addition, the facility includes a nurse navigator skilled in the needs of veterans.

Just a few weeks after summarily firing hundreds of employees, the Trump administration is now notifying some staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that they're back on the job. On Tuesday, an unknown number of CDC staff began receiving emails stating that their letters of termination were being rescinded, according to emails reviewed by NPR and interviews with more than half a dozen sources at the agency who were not authorized to speak publicly.
