How can technology help spinal cord injury patients? ?? That's what we found out today during the second round of the Open Innovation Camp, directly from those most affected - patients, their families and healthcare professionals. ?? Together we are: ? Tested a prototype of a new app for treatment, education and home care. ? Collected real feedback to help fine-tune the app. ? They discussed how to connect patients and healthcare professionals more effectively than ever before. ?? News from our German Living Lab & Health Labs4Value initiative! ?? On February 7th, we held the second Open Innovation Camp at Dresden University Hospital in partnership with Carus Consilium Sachsen GmbH. ???? Senior citizens joined forces with representatives from the University Centre for Orthopaedics, Trauma & Plastic Surgery, Saxony Economic Development Corporation, and the Technical University of Dresden to put the final prototype of the ActiveTEP app through its paces. ?? ?? ActiveTEP is designed to support hip TEP patients with crucial pre- and post-operative information, guiding them every step of the way. This innovative app was built using a co-creation approach, with alternating test and development phases ensuring a practical, user-oriented solution. The direct feedback from seniors and experts was invaluable for the final optimizations. ? ?? On January 20th, GZS MedTech Slovenija and General Hospital Jesenice organised a workshop dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes for patients discharged from the Jesenice General Hospital. The camp brought together a diverse group, including patients, IT experts, medical staff and med-tech providers. The primary focus was on developing a digital app to support patients during their transition from hospital to rehabilitation. In recent months, workshops with senior citizens have been held at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden. An important step in the further development of the ActiveTEP app, a digital therapy support for hip TEP operations. In addition to testing the knowledge modules, which provide important information on preparing for a hip TEP surgery, the workshops focussed on general usability and identifying individual experiences during the course of treatment. The valuable feedback from the patient's perspective will now be incorporated into the final development phase of the app. This direct feedback enables us to identify weaknesses in the process as well as information deficits and to understand the needs of our patients better at every step of their care pathway. Through this form of co-creation, we not only empower the patient voice, but also ensure that ActiveTEP is truly tailored to their needs.
