Proving What's Possible
关于我们
Health Equity International has been providing essential health and support services to those in need for more than 40 years. Our work has three core components: St. Boniface Hospital, our healthcare facility in southern Haiti, is the largest care provider for over 2 million people in the region and serves as a model health system for the entire country. Our dozens of clinical programs are designed to meet and evolve with our patients’ needs. Here, medical professionals at every level of their careers come to learn and expand their skills. And our community health program and satellite clinic ensure that people living in the mountainous areas around St. Boniface Hospital can access the care they need. Our health system strengthening projects, designed and implemented in partnership with the Haitian Ministry of Health, bring our model of care to more people in more places. We’re sharing what we’ve learned with dozens of healthcare facilities and other nonprofit organizations across Haiti’s southern peninsula and providing healthcare workers with the training and technical support they need to deliver high-quality care. Our shelter and stabilization project, begun in 2024, provides critical shelter and stabilization services to dozens of unhoused migrant families in Massachusetts. We work in accompaniment with each family to design a rehousing and stabilization plan that meets their unique needs and helps them achieve self-sufficiency and independence. Through compassionate, dignified, and culturally competent services, casework, and community support, we are helping our clients build the future they want for themselves. At HEI, we believe that everyone deserves the right to be well. Together with our global network of partners and supporters, we’re creating a safer, healthier world for all.

We are data-driven. We measure what we do and use data to make decisions. For example, when we identify an area with a high number of children who are malnourished, we bring a two-week nutrition training session right into that community. #nutrition #data #Haiti

We were saddened of learn of poet Danielle Legros Georges’s passing this week. Danielle was a professor of creative writing at Lesley University and the second-ever poet laureate of Boston. In 2022, she wrote an original #poem for our staff at St. Boniface Hospital, and she recited it in this #video. It’s a beautiful and moving tribute to healthcare workers. We cherish this extraordinary gift and remain deeply grateful for her generosity, kindness, and friendship. She will be dearly missed.
