In October 2020, we established the Vaccine Equity Cooperative (VEC) and the Community Based Workforce Alliance (CBWA) to address the converging health crises of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are following our community’s feedback to expand our tent. Health Equity Community Collaborative is working toward a future in which life-affirming opportunities and life-extending resources are abundant, equitably distributed and accessible.

The Trump administration’s decision to rescind protections against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions around “sensitive locations,” deeply affects the real and perceived safety of communities we serve at the places where they live, work, study, worship, and seek care. HealthBegins shares ways to prepare and respond in this blog post. https://lnkd.in/ginS7RuW

The recent political acts threatening the progress of DEI initiatives serves as a strategic manipulation of fear. Core Partner Durryle Brooks, Ph.D, MA shares thoughts on how to understand, and protect ourselves from, the psychological terrorism being used against us. Check it out ??
The Conflict Shepherd? Transforming Conflict Through Connection Entrepreneur, Love Researcher & Practitioner
?? What Is Psychological Terrorism and How Is It Used Against Us? ?? This moment takes me back to when I was an early adolescent, navigating the complex intersections of my sexuality and faith. For years, I endured religious-based violence from a pastor who despised gay people. Her words weren’t just cruel—they gave others permission to treat me as less than human, to belittle and isolate me for simply existing. Those were some of the most painful years of my life, and I wouldn’t wish them on anyone. ?? These past weeks reminded me of something crucial: What I experienced back then—and what marginalized communities experience now—is psychological terrorism. At one point, I thought the term “culture war” was overused. But that naivety is long gone. Consider this: +Kevin Roberts, leader of the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025, stated that their “revolution will be bloodless—if the left allows it to be.” +Elon Musk recently mimicked a Nazi salute. +Harmful executive orders followed, targeting marginalized communities through divisive and inhumane policies. +Saying that there are only two genders. +Hit list of DEI professional in the Gov't. This is more than political rhetoric—it’s about power, control, and the strategic manipulation of fear. Whether or not you believe we’re in a war, they do. And they’re weaponizing fear, faith, and social structures to win. ?? DEI professionals and organizational leaders: We need to understand psychological terrorism because it is already being used against us. We must actively protect our mental well-being and stay connected, resisting these tactics with everything we have
