Due to a string of problems and poor decisions, nearly 3,000 animals were stranded at sea between February 22 and March 9 onboard the livestock vessel, Express M. Their journey took over two weeks... when it should have taken no longer than six days. This sad situation demonstrates once again the inherent risks of #SeaTransport. The EU cannot ensure the safety and #welfare of animals once they leave EU shores. In this case, thousands of animals were exposed to unacceptable conditions, and undoubtedly endured severe suffering. The Express M should no longer be allowed to transport animals, and sea transport should be phased out in the EU's ongoing work on the #TransportRegulation. It's the only way to avoid similar tragedies taking place in the future. Along with several other animal protection NGOs, we have written to the Commissioner for Health and #AnimalWelfare, Olivér Várhelyi, and urged the European Commission to take action: https://bit.ly/3XMPLTk

Our drone revealed the aftermath of a bird flu outbreak… ?? In June 2024, Mercy For Animals released disturbing drone footage revealing hundreds of thousands of birds killed because of bird flu. The footage offers a glimpse into the animal agriculture industry’s devastating response to the disease. ?? This is a predictable consequence of the factory-farming system. Keeping thousands of animals crammed inside buildings for their entire lives is a recipe for spreading dangerous diseases. Mercy For Animals is calling on Congress to pass the Industrial Agriculture Accountability Act, legislation requiring corporations to take responsibility for the pandemic risks they cause. Join us by taking action today at https://lnkd.in/enTU6zxv. #TBT #AvianFlu #H5N1 #BirdFlu #AvianInfluenza #Drone #DroneFootage #FactoryFarming #IndustrialAgricultureAccountabilityAct #IAA

Aging gracefully isn’t about resisting time — it’s about flowing with it consciously. ? One of the most powerful tools we have is food as medicine. By embracing life-giving, organic, and unprocessed foods, we nourish our bodies at a cellular level, fueling vitality from within. Add to that the art of self-care — rest, movement, mindfulness, and connection — and you create a lifestyle that sustains energy, clarity, and peace. But it doesn't stop there. Graceful aging also comes from curiosity — the willingness to seek knowledge about your body, your mind, and what helps both thrive. The more you learn about physical and mental wellness, the more empowered your choices become. It’s a daily, deliberate act of love toward yourself. Not perfection — but intention. ???? #TATHOTS #AFRIPHILE #HealthyAging #FoodAsMedicine #SelfCare #Wellbeing #OrganicLiving #Longevity vc: Chakabars.ig

Our Stormy 800-Kilometer Journey Through Pakistan to Save Bear Sunny ???? For three years, Sunny was cruelly forced into a life as a dancing bear. She endured brutal training, captivity, and even the removal of her teeth to keep her defenceless. ?? After years of suffering, her last dance is behind her.? Sunny was confiscated from illegal private keeping in Pakistan’s Jhang district, following efforts by the ISLAMABAD WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT BOARD (IWMB) and Jhang Wildlife Department.? ???? Our team, including Dr. Marina Ivanova, Dr. Amir Khalil and Pia Einheimler,?was informed of her case while still tending to bear Rocky – the baiting bear rescued a few days prior – and our emergency rescue team immediately stepped in to help. The road was not easy – our team travelled 400 km through storms and rough terrain to reach her. ??? After Sunny was relocated to the IWMB Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, FOUR PAWS provided urgent veterinary care and expert treatment. There, she will receive the care and compassion she desperately needs.??? During her rescue, we noticed her calm and cooperative nature, which inspired her new name – Sunny, a reflection of her gentle spirit and the brighter future ahead. ?? ?? Together with IWMB and the Pakistani authorities, we are fighting to end the illegal exploitation of bears for entertainment once and for all, and we thank them for the outstanding collaboration! ?? Support our work and help protect more bears like Sunny and Rocky ? https://lnkd.in/djQtuR9P?? ??:?? FOUR PAWS | Hristo Vladev #BearRescue #AnimalWelfare #EndBearBaiting #FOURPAWS #DancingBear?

This is what motherhood looks like for a pig! Stripped of dignity and trapped in unending agony. Pregnant pigs are often confined to gestation crates, where they are immobilized for the entirety of their pregnancies, enduring physical and psychological distress. Their bodies tell the story of relentless agony: scars from cruel mutilations and sores from months confined to a cage so small they cannot turn around. For mother pigs, there is no escape—only a life of suffering without hope in an industry without mercy. Can you help them? ???? Your support helps drive stronger animal protection laws, expose the hidden horrors of factory farming and so much more. Head to the link below to take action for ALL farmed animals trapped in our food system! https://lnkd.in/gn43g-uK

A dolphin can recognize a friend’s whistle after 20 years apart. Elephants mourn their lost loved ones. Wolves bring food to pack members who are too weak to hunt. Animals don’t just exist alongside one another, they show up, again and again, with a kind of loyalty that doesn’t need words. A lioness will raise a cub that isn’t hers. A bird will call out in warning to a stranger. A horse will stand beside a grieving friend, silent but present. They move through the world with a quiet understanding that connection matters. And the water they drink, swim in, and gather around ties them even closer. We have the power to protect those waters, to keep them safe for the creatures who depend on them. Maybe if we listen, we’ll learn from them, too. #water #sustainability #animals #wildlife
