It's frustrating to see how philanthropic structures often preach about the need for out-of-the-box thinking and innovative solutions, yet they continue to adhere to rigid, cookie-cutter models. The HEAL Project, which addresses critical issues like child sexual abuse through intersectional work and cultural shifts, embodies this contradiction. Despite fitting the bill for innovative approaches, projects like ours struggle to secure funding from traditional government grants. Why? Because we challenge the status quo. We refuse to conform to the narrow frameworks that dictate solutions must come solely from direct work with children or via the criminal justice system. We understand that real change requires broader thinking and solutions outside of capitalist or carceral logic. It's time for philanthropy to truly embrace innovation and support projects like ours that dare to think differently. #PhilanthropyContradictions #Innovation #HEALProject #SocialJustice

Hello, we are The HEAL Project (HEAL2End) At the The HEAL Project, we work to prevent and end childhood sexual abuse (CSA) through healing the wounds of sexual oppression and embracing sexual liberation. ?? Who We Serve: We serve everyone - because we're all part of the solution! From community members to healers, advocates, survivors, and beyond. ?? What Sets Us Apart: We're not direct service . We focus on adults. Our belief in sexual liberation is key to tackling CSA at its roots. Plus, we work within healing, transformative, and abolitionist frameworks. ?? Our Work Involves: Putting human sexuality at the center, challenging existing CSA solutions through an abolitionist lens, and understanding the root causes behind CSA. ?? How We Achieve Our Mission: Workshops, lectures, Community healing retreats, professional training for advocates and healers and thought-provoking materials to connect the dots.
