In 2015, Lexi was diagnosed with Leukemia. After a successful round of treatment, she relapsed right before Thanksgiving in 2017 and needed a bone marrow transplant. Lexi’s sister was an exact match and was able to donate, but their family needed a place to stay that was close to the hospital while they both recovered from the transplant. Nick’s House was that place and not only gave the family a place to heal but allowed Lexi to be a kid again in the midst of her fight. Now, Lexi is cancer free and enjoying life to the fullest! At just three years old Ben was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Faced with daily drives of over 100 miles for treatment and doctors appointments at CHOP, Ben and his family turned to HEADstrong for support. We're all smiling ear to ear today as HEADstrong hero Margarito received great news - he had his last day of a clinical trial at Dana Farber and his scans now show that his cancer has not only stopped spreading but has completely dissipated from his lungs! As a native of Florida, he would have needed to travel to Boston 13 times in three months to complete the trial, something that wouldn't have been possible without Nick's House Boston.
