The high school sports photojournalism program at Boston Globe Media is pretty fantastic, if I do say so myself. More than 120 students have signed up this fall to participate in the program, which is free for any Massachusetts high school student to participate in. More than 80 high schools are being represented, alphabetically speaking, from Algonquin to Xaverian, or, as the crow flies, from Northampton to Nantucket. The top 50 high school sports photos from the season were posted this morning in a special Best of Fall 2024 photo gallery. Please check it out -- and please tell your friends, family, and social media followers to check it out, too. #photojournalism #sports #photography #journalism https://lnkd.in/eZeZ9jkx

The Boston Globe Media high school sports #photojournalism program is unlike any other we know of in the country. More than 70 high school students across Massachusetts have signed up this fall -- and for free! -- and have contributed hundreds of images to supplement the online sports section. This week's photo gallery features some 25 teams in eight sports -- including crew and rock climbing -- and pictures from 17 student photogs, too! https://lnkd.in/gBPFSWsG

As someone who has worked for years with student journalists Maya Dawson and Maggie LeBeau when they were at their respective high schools, knowing that they are both attending University of Missouri-Columbia tells me that the future of #journalism is in very good hands. One of the most fantastic collaborations between a major market news source and high school students across the state has returned for its second year! The Boston Globe Media, in conjunction with Headliners in Education, is once again running its high school sports photojournalism program. The program, which is free for any high school student in the state to join, showcases schools/teams/athletes in all sports (and its fans!) across Massachusetts. Today, the Globe published its first weekly online photo gallery of the 2024-25 school year. We encourage everyone to check it out -- and to encourage high school photojournalists to take part, too! Now THIS is the way to kick off the school year! Student journalists from The Oakmonitor at Oakmont Regional High, The 1851 Chronicle at Lasell University, and The Harbinger at Algonquin Regional attended a special press preview of "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" Tuesday at AMC Boston Common -- and met some famous characters along the way. #beetlejuice #journalismstudent #moviereview
