As New York's only architecture + design focused bookshop, we love to share why spaces like Head Hi are an important part of the architecture culture ecosystem during class visits. Thanks for the visit!
Associate Principal and Business Development Director at Ennead, Founder and Editor at Madame Architect
That's a wrap on teaching my first elective course at Pratt Institute School of Architecture, "Architecture in Media"! We took a look at all kinds of publications, how architects present themselves, and different ways to talk about one's work. The students wrote pitches, press releases, and social media captions about their studio projects, ending the semester with a written piece in a format that most resonated with them and their interests (op-ed, interview, review, etc). A huge thanks to our amazing roster of guests who came in to talk about their work in architecture, journalism, and PR -- Tiffany Jow, Nicolas Kemper, Kate Reggev, AIA, Lila Allen, Paul Keskeys, Jarrett Fuller, Daniel Confroy, Diana Budds, Leopoldo Villardi, Finn MacLeod, Jack Murphy, and Alexandra Hodkowski -- demonstrating to the students that good communication is paramount. I loved teaching this course! Photo taken at Head Hi on a visit there for our last class.

How do we understand landscape today? How do we discuss and visualize nature? Can they be conceived and represented as something existing independently of the viewer, now that the human race has gotten into a very last corner of the world? Last night we presented the book Landscape with(out) Locus with editors Eva Leitolf and Giulia Cordin and landscape architect and contributor to the book Tiago Torres Campos on these very questions. Get the book and check out photos from the discussion below. https://lnkd.in/ee7GGkp6
