Leaders from across the transportation construction industry kicked off the 2024 American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) National Convention this week, including our CEO John Henderson. At Monday’s general session, John and his industry colleagues talked about the opportunities and challenges that have accompanied the U.S. IIJA federal funding program. Not pictured but also on hand to share insights at the conference were our Highways and Roads Director Bernie Arseneau, PE, PTOE, Transportation Alternative Delivery Director Jay Chiglo and Transportation Construction & Digital Delivery Practice Advisor Matt Blake. The Los Angeles Metro has selected us to provide the final design of the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit Corridor Project. The project includes 22 new stations over 19 miles, linking Los Angeles, Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena. Principal Engineer Mark Christoffels is leading our work and put it well when he said, “It’s great to work on projects that make such a tangible contribution to people’s everyday lives." Great Lakes Water Authority operates one of the largest municipal utility systems in the U.S., serving nearly four million residents in eight Michigan counties. We’re collaborating with GLWA on a proactive pipeline assessment and renewal program to assess water transmission mains and wastewater interceptors and renew deteriorated pipelines. By detecting potential pipeline breaks before they occur, this program aims at minimal service disruptions for the community while prioritizing affordable solutions.
