As part of the Annapolis City Dock Revitalization, this 19th-century waterman’s cottage is being elevated to protect it from future flooding, ensuring its preservation for generations to come. ? Proud to Be a Changemaker! HD Squared Architects was honored to sponsor and attend the recent Maryland League of Conservation Voters Changemakers event at the University of Maryland. The event celebrated leadership in environmental policy through three inspiring awards: U.S. Senator Ben Cardin received the John V. Kabler Memorial Award. Senator Sarah Elfreth and Senator Sara Love were recognized as the 2024 Legislator of the Year. A heartfelt thanks and?congratulations to these phenomenal policymakers for their commitment to ensuring clean water, healthy air, and climate-resilient communities. This event was also a significant milestone for our Founder and CEO, Melanie Hartwig-Davis, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD C, marking her final Changemaker event as a board member. Over the past 10 years, she has had the privilege of serving on the C3 board and later the C4 board. The organization has grown and evolved into a powerful force for environmental advocacy, especially under the leadership of Executive Director Kim Coble.
