Today, on Thanksgiving, we come together with loved ones, reflect and give gratitude. Today we also recognize #NationalDayOfMourning, an annual reminder of the genocide the Indigenous community experienced, particularly the Wampanoag people from southeastern Massachusetts, the assault on their culture, and being forcibly removed from their lands soon after the Pilgrims arrived. At Healthy Communities Foundation, we believe that unrestricted multi-year funding gives our partners the flexibility to focus on long-term impact instead of short-term outcomes. That's why we extended our multi-year funding commitment from three to five years, awarding $4,450,000 to 32 organizations for the first year of a five-year grant commitment.
