While participating in University of Houston Day at the Capitol, many prominent elected officials came and spoke to the University of Houston leadership, alumni and student who participated. Our University of Houston Law Center students- Teni Fayiga, Gabriella Sterritt , and Mona Deo, CPA -had the chance to meet University of Houston Law Center alumnus and Harris County District Attorney's Office DA Sean Teare.
DA Sean Teare and the rest of the team including Tiana Sanford, Celeste Byrom, Chris Handley, and John Jordan were thrilled to attend the Government and Public Interest Table Talk?at the University of Houston Law School and have a chance to explain to some of the best young legal minds in the state of Texas why there is no better place to learn to be a top litigator than the Harris County District Attorney's Office. Thanks again to Leonard M. Baynes for hosting us! At the University of Houston Law Center, the Career Development Office hosted the Government and Public Interest Table Talk where our excellent students and recent graduates were able to informally chat with government and public interest employers. University of Houston Law Center Dean Leonard M. Baynes greeted the employer to thank them for coming to the Law Center and consider hiring our students. The employers were overwhelmingly positive about our students' preparedness. The employers told me how great the students were, that their resumes were terrific, and they were pleased that they researched their organization. The Harris County District Attorney's Office sent its biggest guns to the Table Talk- the DA himself Sean Teare and one of his right hands Tiana Sanford. Who knows-- maybe next year, some other county district attorneys will also be present! Just speculating! Thank you to all the employers present and especially to our excellent students of which the 2024 entering class had the highest median LSAT and GPA in University of Houston Law Center's history!
