Today, we are proud to announce that the HCA Healthcare Foundation, through its Healthier Tomorrow Fund, will give $1.84 million to Mile High United Way to launch United for Healthy Starts, a national collaboration between four United Ways to help increase access to social, economic and educational support services for families. United for Healthy Starts aims to increase access to services to improve social, economic and overall health outcomes for families. Through this new grant, the initiative is designed to help families have strong, healthy starts through home visitation and wrap-around services tailored to the needs of each family supported. By establishing a national, collaborative learning community, United for Healthy Starts will also work to help create new nonprofit partnerships, with the intention of strengthening service delivery and innovation and achieving a scalable impact beyond the grant. Perfect Match! Friday, March 21 was Match Day at University of Central Florida College of Medicine. This year, the college celebrated a 100% placement rate – all of the 119 medical students who applied for residency programs matched, including 11 who matched into UCF—HCA residencies for all or part of their training. ?? We are pleased to announce the groundbreaking of the new freestanding emergency room ?? in Winter Garden, HCA Florida West Orange Emergency. The $16 million, 11,570 square foot emergency room will provide a full range of emergency medical services for children and adults when it opens late summer 2025. This new, state-of-the-art emergency room will be staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, just like an emergency room that is housed within the walls of a hospital. Physicians and healthcare professionals will diagnose and treat a range of general and specific conditions including respiratory infections, chest pain and broken bones. In addition, it will feature 11 emergency exam rooms, CT scan, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and on-site laboratory services.
