Join us on Saturday, October 26, 2024, as we host our annual “Crush the Crisis” Prescription Drug Take Back event. We’re joining the Fort Walton Beach Police Department and Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office and HCA Healthcare hospitals across the nation to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and the importance of safe disposal of unused or expired medications. The French family's healthcare journey started in 1997 when John French began working as a physical therapy assistant at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. Little did he know that his career would inspire his son, Justin, and grandson, Jacob, to follow in his footsteps. Justin began his own journey as a physical therapy technician at 17 years old, gaining valuable experience and compassion for patient care. After moving to Indiana, he became a registered nurse and dedicated seven fulfilling years to serving his community. In 2020, the family returned to Florida, and Justin found a perfect fit as a registered nurse at HCA Florida Northwest Rehabilitation Center. In the summer of 2024, Justin was offered the role of clinical nurse coordinator, allowing him to have an even greater impact on patient care. Around the same time, his 19-year-old son Jacob expressed a desire to pursue a career in healthcare. In July 2024, Jacob started working as a patient care tech, continuing the family legacy that began with his grandfather. Reflecting on this full-circle moment, Justin shared, "Watching Jacob embrace the values of empathy and dedication that my father instilled in me is incredibly rewarding."
