Happy Physician Assistant Week! At HCA Florida Capital Hospital and across our larger HCA Healthcare network, we are proud to celebrate physician assistants (PAs) for their dedication to the patients and communities we serve. PAs are licensed, highly trained clinicians who practice medicine in every specialty and work closely with physicians to provide medical care and guidance to patients. In their role, they conduct physical exams, develop treatment plans, counsel on preventative care and more. Thank you to the PAs across our organization for your commitment to the care and improvement of human life. We celebrate you today and every day. #HealthierTomorrows #PAWeek

Last night, Hurricane #Milton struck Florida’s west coast as a Category 3 hurricane, bringing powerful winds, rain and flooding as it moved through the state early this morning. The severe weather events have produced widespread damage and power outages across many communities that HCA Florida Healthcare serves. Ahead of the storm, our HCA Healthcare colleagues came together to prepare our facilities for potential impact by prepositioning construction materials and stationing remediation teams onsite at our hospitals. Additionally, HCA Healthcare's Nashville-based Enterprise Emergency Operations Center (EEOC) worked with our Emergency Medical Services partners to transport patients from high-risk areas to other facilities for safety. We’re continuing to assess the needs of our hospitals and we’ll continuously work to ensure critical resources like generators, fuel and water are positioned in impacted areas. During the storm, our HCA Florida Healthcare family showed remarkable dedication, reassuring patients, ensuring safety, and delivering continuous care. We are thankful for their courage, compassion and unwavering commitment to our patients and the communities we serve in the face of Hurricane Milton. Our thoughts and hearts are with everyone affected. In the coming days, we will rebuild together. An updated list of the status of each site of care in the HCA Florida Healthcare network is available here: https://bit.ly/3Y5dc9Z ?? As impacted areas of Florida begin the process of assessing damage and restoring, it is our priority to take care of our patients as well as each other. The HCA Healthcare Hope Fund is a colleague-run, colleague-supported 501(c)(3) charity that helps HCA Healthcare families through unexpected crises, disasters and other challenging situations. HCA Healthcare colleagues impacted by the storm can visit the Hope Fund's website to learn more and apply to request assistance: https://bit.ly/4eFzUwg #CareLikeFamily #WeShowUp

Each day across our larger HCA Healthcare Healthcare network, emergency room (ER) nurses care for patients who are facing traumatic or severe, often life-threatening medical emergencies ranging from car accidents to strokes and heart attacks. Annually, HCA Healthcare hospitals see more than 9 million ER visits. ER nurses are trained to act decisively in critical situations, providing expert skill with compassion while reducing discomfort during each patient interaction. During Emergency Nurses Week, we celebrate and thank the essential emergency room nurses at HCA Florida Capital Hospital for their dedication to lifesaving, patient-centered care and community service. #PositiveImpact #HCANursing #ENWeek
