September is #NICUAwarenessMonth! #NICU stands for neonatal intensive care unit. In these hospital units, caregivers support babies born prematurely or with certain medical conditions. Let's celebrate our amazing NICU caregivers who work with our tiniest patients! HCA Florida Capital Hospital is proud to be part of our broader network — HCA Healthcare — one of the nation's leading network for delivering babies. Last year, our hospitals welcomed more than 212,000 newborns. As partners of March of Dimes, we are dedicated to advocating for the health of all moms and babies. #ImproveMoreLives #NICUAwareness

Today, and every day, we remember the lives we lost on September 11, 2001, their families and the survivors who witnessed it all. Alongside our HCA Healthcare family, we pause to remember the brave response of our first responders and everyday citizens who selflessly and courageously fought back. We will never forget. #NeverForget #PatriotDay

We know mental illness does not discriminate; it affects people of all socioeconomic backgrounds, education levels, genders, ages, races and ethnicities. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) reports: ? 1 in 5 adults experience mental illness each year and less than half of them receive treatment. ? 1 in 6 adolescents will experience a mental health condition. ? 1 in 8 ED visits involve patients with mental illness and substance use disorders. With increased conversations and awareness, we see perceptions of mental illness and substance changing. With our mental health services and commitment, we hope to give our patients and their families a healthier and more hopeful tomorrow. https://lnkd.in/eXMQDDHg #ImproveMoreLives

It is Suicide Awareness Month and HCA Florida Capital Hospital has an adolescent intensive outpatient behavioral health program. Children are not immune to mental illness. In fact, half of all lifetime mental health conditions begin by age 14. If you have noticed changes in your child’s mood or behavior, start a conversation with them about how they are feeling and consider scheduling an appointment for them to talk to a mental health professional.
