This Monday, the Harvard Business School Club of Dallas’s Real Estate Special Interest Group launched its 2024-2025 season with an impactful program focused on affordable housing. We were honored to have Megan Lasch Founder and CEO of Saigebrook Development | O-SDA Industries, as our speaker. Megan, a visionary leader who has developed over 33 LIHTC affordable housing communities in Texas brought her insights to life for approximately 28 HBS alumni at one of her developments, Kiva Apartments, in Dallas. Led by Rose Hasham our Real Estate SIG Lead, the fireside chat delved into the complexities of the affordable housing capital stack, state agency allocation plans, tax advantages, and the challenges of securing approvals for LIHTC projects. Megan’s emphasis on the importance of alignment with city planning and approvals underscored the broader impact these developments have on the community—a message with profound implications for us all. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this meaningful conversation. On 9/24,?Executive Coach Jill Miller Perrin (’85) welcomed??HBS Women (and other female Harvard affiliates) at Maggiano's Little Italy @North Park mall to have fun, strengthen the local community of Harvard women and gain wisdom on the topic of Expanding Influence. We had an informal yet structured discussion centered on quotes from female leaders Carla Harris, Sheryl Sandberg, Indra Nooyi, and Mary Barra. It was fascinating to hear how their wisdom resonated (or did not!) and to share what we’ve experienced as female leaders ‘Expanding Influence'. (The real stories!) One attendee wrote, "The atmosphere of camaraderie, the exchange of knowledge between alumni of different generations, and the platform it provided for women to connect, share, and grow was truly inspiring. We were having 'real conversations' at our tables….”?
