Hola familia ! This weeks General meeting was another success alongside McCoy Corporation! Our meeting began with our starting ice breakers, this weeks was a HBSA Kahoot! Super fun and exciting to test out our memebers knowledge on HBSA & officers! Following into the presentation we were all waiting for! We were captivated by the history and family timeline that created the amazing company of McCoy’s. As well as learned that our very own McCoy College of business was connected to McCoy’s building supply! Thank you Mr. Dan Roy for coming out and enlightening us on the greatness of McCoy’s Building Supply. We appreciate the mission and dedication of McCoy’s and were thrilled to learn more about this great corporation. Another huge thank you to McCoy College of Business at Texas State University for a wonderful gift for our guest speaker!

Good afternoon Familia! This past tuesday we held our 3rd general meeting of the semester where we were joined by Enterprise Mobility! We started off the meeting with our icebreaker of a rock paper scissors tournament, when we had a winner, we then proceeded into a presentation given to us by Christen Romero, SHRM-CP, and Area manager at Enterprise Ronny! After a wonderful presentation, we proceeded into asking questions and learned about the many different ways enterprise functions! Thank you Enterprise Mobility for coming and spending time with us, thank you to McCoy College of Business at Texas State University for the gifts for Enterprise, and thank you to our familia for the continued support!

Good afternoon familia! Last Friday we had the opportunity to go and tour the Enterprise Corporate office located in Austin! We arrived at the office, where we got to enjoy the beautiful views and building. We then proceeded in to 1 on 1 breakout sessions and got to speak to employees of Enterprise, learning about the daily life and responsibilities a worker for Enterprise experiences. We then ate and got to learn more about the company's many different benefits. After a wonderful lunch, we then heard from an insightful panel about the intricacies of Enterprise, along with time for questions. Thank you again Enterprise for having us, and thank you familia for the continued support!

Good morning Familia! Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Charles Schwab for our 2nd general meeting of the semester! We started off the meeting by welcoming back HBSA alumni Fabian Rivera, who served as last years secretary! We then proceeded to group up and discuss how to solve the parking problem here at Texas State! The best solution given by Sandra Francisco earned a prize of Charles Schwab merch! We then went into the Charles Schwab presentation, where we learned all about the many opportunities and duties of a Schwabbie! We wrapped up our meeting by giving our alumni Fabian Rivera a gift provided graciously by the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University. Thank you to our familia for the continued support!

The Hispanic Business Student Association had an incredible office visit to Charles Schwab, a leading financial services firm dedicated to helping clients take ownership of their financial future. With a strong commitment to innovation, integrity, and putting clients first, Schwab has built a reputation as a trusted partner in the financial industry. We had the opportunity to visit their beautiful Austin campus, where we met with managers, employees, and interns who took time out of their day to share their experiences with us. Our visit started with an insightful presentation about who Schwab is and what they stand for. We heard from Richi and Carlos, who spoke about their roles in Retirement Plan Services and the Schwab Service Academy (SSA). They were joined by Cheyanne Donis, an ATA intern and fellow Bobcat, who shared her perspective on working at Schwab. These three did an amazing job giving us insight into Schwab’s work culture and their personal “Why Schwab” stories. After the presentation, we took a tour of the campus and its various buildings, where we got to see different teams in action—including the SSA students working toward their SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 certifications. Some highlights of the campus tour included the amphitheater and the Schwamp, two features that make this campus such a special place to work. We had an amazing time learning more about Schwab’s culture, opportunities, and impact, and we’re incredibly grateful to the professionals who took the time to speak with us. Good Morning Familia! This past tuesday, HBSA held its first general meeting of the semester, welcoming in new familia! We opened up our meeting with a tic tac toe style icebreaker, getting to know our members backgrounds. We then had our introduction slideshow, showcasing the many activities and perks of being a part of the familia! We then had 2 of our alumni Trevor Torres and Anissah Cisneros speak on the memories and growth they experienced in their years with HBSA. Thank you to our familia, and another thank you to Trevor Torres and Anissah Cisneros for their time and wisdom, and thank you to McCoy College of Business at Texas State University for their gifts for our alumni!

Hola Familia! On November 5th, we had the pleasure of holding our 5th general meeting of the fall semester, where we were joined by the incredible Ben E. Keith Company! We started off our meeting with a fun game of kahoot, filled with thanksgiving trivia. After a fun competitive game, Ben E. Keith Company gave us a presentation all about their responsibilities. HBSA heard all about how Ben E. Keith Company supports the surrounding communities food industries, and how they are involved in many more businesses. We ended off our meeting by talking about our upcoming alumni mixer being held on November 15th! Thank you to Ben E. Keith Company for joining us and giving us wonderful insight! Hola Familia! On Tuesday, 10/22, HBSA held its 4th general meeting of the semester. We were lucky enough to be joined by RSM. Representing RSM was Dakota Serafin and her colleagues. We started our meeting off with some new information about the organization, which then lead into our icebreaker, LinkedIn networking! Our familia were able to expand their outreach, and grow closer as a familia. After making connections, we then sat down and learned all about RSM from Dakota Serafin and her colleagues. HBSA learned about the many different opportunities that RSM provides, and their many available internships. After learning all about RSM, we broke into small groups and got to ask all of the RSM representatives specific questions we had for each of them. Thank you to RSM, Dakota Serafin, and her colleagues, and thank you to the entirety of our familia for the constant support!

Hola Familia! On October 8th, HBSA had the honor of being joined by Eric Bergman and Abraham Guajardo from the wonderful corporation Thrivent. We started off our meeting writing postcards for children in need, in collaboration with the Greater San Marcos Youth Center(GSMYC). Thrivent then presented their mission, and talked about the numerous volunteer events they participate in to help the greater community. After an insightful presentation, HBSA was thrilled to participate in one of these volunteer events! HBSA & Thrivent joined together to assist in creating care packages for young children in need, and getting them to the GSMYC. We filled up all the care packages, and attached post cards full of encouragement. Once we had wrapped up, we reconvened and thanked Thrivent and the GSMYC. Another huge thank you to the Student Success Center and McCoy College of Business at Texas State University. One more thank you to all of our members for making such a wonderful event possible!

? An Honor to Represent McCoy College of Business at the Hispanic Heritage Awards ? We are incredibly honored to have represented the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University at this year’s Hispanic Heritage Awards in Washington, D.C. It was truly a privilege to be a part of such a signature event celebrating Latino leaders and excellence. For many of our members, who are first-generation college students, it was a profound experience to earn a spot in a room filled with inspiring Latino trailblazers. Moments like these remind us why we work so hard at HBSA—to create opportunities that empower our members and allow them to be seen for their achievements on a national level. We here at HBSA are proud to have members as driven as these 16 members are. Big shoutout to Jesse Villarreal, JoseLuis Martinez, Jose Antonio Torres, Christian Saldana, Vincent Valdez, Abigail Zelaya, Adrian Aranda, Amy Martinez, Brian Cortez, Genesis Reyes, Gwyn Gutierrez, Jennifer Lemus, Kate Ramirez, Sergio Barriga, Veronica Rodriguez, and Braden Wilson. You all made it happen. Could not be prouder of these 16 members for working hard to earn their spot at an event such as the Hispanic Heritage Awards host by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation This experience aligns directly with our mission: to prepare our members for their future endeavors and empower them to excellence. We are proud to have made our mark and even prouder of the hard work and dedication that brought us here. A huge thank you goes out to our mentor Mark L.
