A trailblazer in #HBCU history, Mary Elizabeth Branch redefined Black higher education. As the first female president of Tillotson College (now Huston-Tillotson University), she transformed the institution from a junior college to a four-year university, expanding academic opportunities for generations of Black students. Her leadership and dedication to equity in education continue to inspire.
