This was such a great event. I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity ????
HBCU 20x20 | The Application in partnership with the Chicago Bears, hosted an unforgettable?Chicago Bears Career Summit?at?Halas Hall last week, providing students and recent graduates with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at career opportunities in sports. Our Second Annual Summit was filled with networking, insightful panels, and meaningful connections, all aimed at empowering the next generation of industry leaders. The day kicked off with?breakfast in the Hall of Champions, where attendees also had the chance to take professional?headshots. After an official welcome from?HBCU 20x20 and the Bears' HR team, the summit began with an inspiring introduction from?Tanesha Wade, EVP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion & Chief Impact Officer, who set the stage for a day focused on impact, identity, and career growth. The?Community & Social Impact Panel?highlighted how the Bears give back through community engagement and youth football programs, offering students insight into careers that create real change. Following this, attendees took the opportunity to?introduce themselves, reinforcing the importance of making strong first impressions.d A guided?tour of Halas Hall?allowed attendees to experience the iconic?Super Bowl trophy display, walk past the practice fields, and explore the?Walter Payton Center — getting a first-hand look at where champions are built. We also ran into the new Head Coach, Ben Johnson on our tour (iconic right?). During lunch, students reconnected and recharged before diving into the?Associate Development Program Experience Panel, where current associates shared their journeys within the Bears organization. Notably,?Emma Cherradi, a previous summit attendee, was hired as an Associate after attending this very event—proving that opportunities created here can lead to real careers. The afternoon featured?speed networking, allowing attendees to engage one-on-one with professionals across different departments. After a quick break, the?Identity in the Workplace Panel?explored how to navigate professional spaces authentically, with valuable insights from members of the Bears' HR, legal, and ticketing teams. The summit concluded with?closing remarks, reinforcing the importance of perseverance and networking. As students boarded the shuttle back, they left with newfound knowledge, connections, and a reminder that?the sky is not the limit—there is no limit. This event continues to be a?transformative experience, and we look forward to seeing this year’s attendees take their careers to the next level—just like Emma and Gabby! ?????? Thank you Kristin Rogers, MBA, PHR Ana Rodriguez and Dr. Dennis L. Johnson for making this event possible!

This week, HBCU 20x20 | The Application was on the road for our tour, and we stopped somewhere special — Chicago State University. Since 2017, we have visited more than 70+ colleges and universities, but visiting Chicago State University was surreal... After 10 years, it felt like I finally came home. I instantly remembered my first memories when I arrived at Chicago State University as a freshman. Never in a million years did I think I would be a college boy, but my experience at Chicago State turned me into a man. I majored in political science, volunteered and mentored young guys from the Southside of Chicago, served as Student Government Association President and even sat on the committee to bring the Obama Presidential Library to the Southside of Chicago. I was the first in my family to graduate from college and Chicago State made me realize the importance of education, community and peace. I went on to earn my Masters in Urban and Regional Planning, and my Doctorate of Education and have dedicated my life to making the world a better place, but it all started at Chicago State. I’m proud of the person I am today, and if Chicago State University did not take a chance on me, there’s no telling where’d I be. Thank you CSU for welcoming me and HBCU 20x20 with open arms, and it won’t be the last time I’ll visit.
