Earlier this month, Hayfin’s Global Women’s Initiative hosted a panel discussion at the Soho Hotel, centred around the theme of Inspiring Change Through Leadership, in celebration of International Women’s Day. The discussion was followed by a networking event in the Sandra Blow Room, named after the pioneering artist within the 20th century British abstract movement. ? Moderated by Maura English, Managing Director in Hayfin’s Partner Solutions team, our guest speakers Kristina Widegren, Partner and Co-Head of Rede’s Global Coverage team at Rede Partners, Caroline Boddy, Managing Director for Leveraged Credit Sales at Jefferies, and Alison Rose, former chief executive of NatWest Group and senior partner at Charterhouse Capital Partners, shared their experiences as prominent leaders in the finance sector, reflecting on both how far the industry has come and what more can be done to empower women in financial services. ? The panellists reminded us that successful leaders are authentic, curious and open-minded. Our panellists shared their experiences of the challenges they have faced as women throughout their careers, often navigating male-dominated spaces while sometimes grappling with impostor syndrome. Pranathi Aprascheru was excited to join Hayfin’s summer programme as a Finance intern because it was an opportunity to peek behind the curtain at the inner workings of the alternative asset management industry. ? During the internship, she worked on?a cash flow project where she projected expenses for the upcoming years. In addition to larger projects, Pranathi also supported the team with day-to-day tasks, providing a deeper comprehension of the private credit industry and how the Finance team plays an important role in the business. ? Deepankumar Sakthivel joined Hayfin’s summer internship programme to further explore his interest in private credit as well as his passion for healthcare finance. During the internship, Deepan worked closely with the Healthcare team, gaining hands-on experience by analysing investment propositions, building financial models, and contributing to investment memos. Deepan also attended regular masterclasses led by Hayfin’s investment professionals, offering unique insights into the firm’s divisions and its approach to private credit. We are pleased to have priced the reset of Hayfin US XII, a $353 million CLO which was first priced in December 2020. The transaction attracted strong investor interest and will be backed by a diversified portfolio of primarily US senior-secured loans.? It comes off the back of an active 2024 which saw the new issue prints of Hayfin US XV in addition to the pricing of two new issue CLOs and three reset transactions of Hayfin’s Emerald series, its European shelf.
