Chris Ahn spoke to Axios about the significance of Stripe's acquisition of Haun Ventures portfolio company Bridge: ?? "If you look at the traditional financial rails, Stripe is one of the many layers a dollar has to move through to process a payment," says Haun Ventures partner Chris Ahn. I know what it looks like every two years to have 80% of your revenue go away like clockwork." ?? Building a company in crypto is being a founder in hard mode. It's already insane, you know, "chewing glass and staring into abyss." But it's a harder version of the abyss, a darker version of the abyss. ?? I've been doing [deals] for a long time. Personally, I have over 150 angel investments. I feel like I was playing mini golf, but now I'm playing golf. Today we announced that we're backing Bridge, an entirely new payments platform, built with stablecoins, to simplify global money movement. Payments has long been a promised use case for blockchains. Stablecoins, combined with cheap and fast blockchains, are fulfilling this promise and growing quickly. Stablecoins especially shine for international payments, where the speed and cost benefits vs. fiat transfers can be significant. However, stablecoins remain difficult to use for most businesses because operating across fiat and multiple blockchains creates complexity that make it difficult for businesses to deeply integrate and take advantage of this technology.
