It was phenomenal for a long time and paved the way for new apps like Hatched? Dating, so I don’t say this as a slight. But the writing is on the wall. What baffles me most is the lack of true innovation at the top of the online dating space. Changing personnel, tweaking slogans, or rolling out nominal features might strengthen swiping's final threads—but they’re not the long-term answer. Here’s the opportunity: A $15B+ windfall is coming, waiting for the right innovators to capture it. Swiping had its time; the next chapter is here. ?? At Hatched? Dating, we’re focused on rewriting the narrative and solving problems like "Swiping Depression" by offering something fundamentally different. Remember our VC & Startup Gathering at Slush 2024? What a night it was ?? With Inovo.vc, One Way Ventures, SID Venture Partners, Snap Inc., Solidgate, and TRMNL4, we brought together over 150 great entrepreneurs and investors to chat over drinks. For those who don’t know, superficiality and depression are real issues that humans are dealing with around the world, caused by endless usage of dating apps with users finding no positive end result (laugh all you want, it is very real). It is causing a worldwide loneliness pandemic, and if you do not believe me, do some reasearch. When we talk about why society is in such a state of disarray, social media is one of the main causes and it needs to be fixed!
