UCHealth Inpatient Pavilion Tower 3 has been awarded the ENR Mountain States Healthcare Award of Merit as well as Excellence in Sustainability! These awards are a testament to the hard work of our team and our trade partners. One of the most innovative solutions the entire project team developed was the open ambulance bay. We ultimately implemented a complex two-story steel truss system that supports 8 floors of patient rooms in the tower above, suspends a floor of operating rooms below and creates a 160-foot by 130-foot ambulance drop off area free of columns. In addition, the new tower was designed with sustainability in mind. When operating, it is projected to use 25% less energy than a comparable code compliant hospital. The Arapahoe Community College Health Annex is officially open to students. Our team celebrated the ribbon cutting for this new healthcare teaching space yesterday along with the college, where community members got to tour the space and explore the cutting-edge technologies it incorporates. Last Friday marked the third annual ACE Mentor Program of Colorado Trades Day in partnership with the Construction Education Foundation. High school students were able to rotate through 14 stations hosted by trade partners and subcontractors to learn more about how rewarding a career in the trades can be!
