In our 13+ years of creating space for queer and trans artists we’ve made achievements ranging from founding Sarasota’s only LGBTQ+ film festival, to increasing workplace safety for LGBTQ+ employees and residents. Now, we’re ready to take our biggest step yet: opening Sarasota’s first queer performing arts center! In a time when attacks against LGBTQ+ people are rising, this center will create a space for healing and community building that will push against hate while elevating queer joy. We are just at the inception of this process, and we are so excited to partner with our community to make this space a reality. MISSION FabAF, Inc. is committed to fostering LGBTQ+ arts as a catalyst for social change, while healing our LGBTQ+ community. VISION We promote equality for LGBTQ+ people by fostering emerging artistic talent and advocating for equal rights. Fab creates safe spaces within our communities by providing an artistic platform for people to have their voices heard. Our Programs: Mid-May Arts Festival- Art, Theatre/Dance, Music Fall- Fabulous Independent Film Festival Winter - Drag Culture Festival Nov-January Outreach- Youth Scholarship Program, Panel discussions, and more Performance Art + other events throughout the year.
