关于我们
The MPH in Epidemiology at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health enables medical and healthcare professionals to advance to new levels in their leadership and research careers. The MPH-EPI is a part-time, hybrid degree program designed to accommodate the needs of busy professionals. Students in the program come to the Harvard Chan campus twice during the month of June throughout their two-year program for an enriching curriculum and cohort-building experience. Throughout the rest of the program, July - May, students participate in asynchronous, online courses in addition to an applied practicum and integrative learning experience. Students and alumni from the MPH-EPI represent a global community from six continents and have diverse experience in the medical, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries.

It's so exciting to see a former MPH-EPI student's practicum work get published! Congratulations Robert Meade!
Research Fellow at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Salata Institute South Asia Cluster
Extremely excited to share our large-scale systematic review and meta-analysis of the cardiac impacts of passive heat exposure, published this week in Nature Communications (Nature Portfolio): Meta-analysis of heat-induced changes in cardiac function from over 400 laboratory-based heat exposure studies (https://lnkd.in/ebvrGaYJ) Since 2020, our team at the Human and Environmental Physiology Research Unit (HEPRU) and members from Harvard University, University of Otago, Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine, and the University of Portsmouth has compiled data from over 400 laboratory-based heat exposure studies encompassing thousands of participants-exposures and essentially an entire year of high-resolution physiological data. The tldr is that because of the way that most studies have heated participants, our understanding of how hot weather and #heatwaves influence cardiac function is likely not as complete as previously thought. These findings have important implications for the design of climate health models – which increasingly leverage physiological data – as well as to the development of evidence-based #adaptation strategies. With the huge dataset we were also able to produce novel empirical estimates of how body temperature and cardiac function change in response to the large range of conditions experienced during hot weather and heat waves. Couldn't have done it without the stellar team: Dr. Glen P. Kenny, Ashley Akerman, Sean Notley, Gregory McGarr, Emma McCourt, Nathalie Kirby (HEPRU University of Ottawa), Joseph Costello (University of Portsmouth), Jim Cotter (University of Otago), Craig Crandall (UT Southwestern Medical Center) and Antonella Zanobetti (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health)... ... or the 50-some authors who provided primary and secondary outcome data, some of which were 40+ years old. + the dataset is freely available!! ??

Great to see our MPH in Epidemiology alumni making an impact?? Thank you Joseph de Veyra, DNP, RN, PCCN, MPH, MBA for sharing these key takeaways. Excited to see everyone at the Meet & Greet tonight!

3 Key Takeaways from Harvard University MPH Program It’s an honor to be part of the?MPH in Epidemiology, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health alumni network and outreach team. My time in the program helped prepare me to lead?NPHub?and NPHire, equipping me with the skills to drive innovation in NP clinical placements and job matching. Tomorrow, March 6th, I’ll be representing our alumni at the?MPH-EPI Meet & Greet?with admitted students—a full-circle moment that reminds me just how transformative this journey has been. If you see the photo below from my first day, you’d see that I had just flown from Seattle to Boston, balancing an executive leadership role at a?Level 1 trauma center?in the middle of the pandemic. It was challenging. It was exhausting. But it was?worth it. Here are my?top 3 takeaways?from the program that continue to shape my leadership: ??Efficiency Through Data?– Concepts like?logistic regression and AI?sharpened my ability to match NP students with the right clinical placements, ensuring a streamlined and effective process. ??Literature Review Mastery?– Learning how to assess the?validity of studies?means we apply the best evidence that scholarship has to offer in our goal to optimize clinical placements, benefiting both students and preceptors. ??Commitment to DEI?– Being part of a?global cohort?with classmates from?Japan, Australia, and beyond reinforced the importance of?inclusion. That’s why we integrated a?multi-language feature?in NPHire—so NP candidates can better connect with the diverse patient populations they serve. If you’re interested in the?Harvard University MPH-Epidemiology?program, reach out to the incredible team:?Dr. Heather Baer, Elizabeth Breazeale and Stephanie Lemoine—or message me directly. Drop?"Harvard"?in the comments if you're considering this program or are part of the alumni network! ???? #HarvardMPH #Epidemiology #NursingLeadership #NPs #ClinicalPlacements #DataDrivenHealthcare #DEI #Innovation
