It is an important thing to know why do you need a particular pattern, for instance say just because you have learned the micro services you want to implement it in your project, but does your project has million users? does it have many databases or is your project big enough that you need to break it down to small and number of projects, if not then you don't microservices here, you need to know first what are you trying to achieve and then decide which pattern you need for that, and once you figure out your objective then choosing a design pattern is just a task! Using patterns that do not suit your project/objective will break your project in terms of performance and quality of code you write.
