H&H recently traded our peristaltic pumps for pickleball paddles in the first inaugural Raleigh pickleball round-up!?Nothing like a little competition to build team spirit and get us all moving.?The game brought out the best of our team’s skills (the rule sticklers that attend pickleball camps, the seasoned pros, and some surprising newbie mastery). Thanks to everyone who participated! Looking forward to our next match already.?? ? #TeamBuilding #CompanyCulture #Pickleball #WorkplaceWellness #TeamEvents?

Hart & Hickman hosts monthly roundups as a way for employees to socialize.?In honor of completing recent groundwater monitoring at a hexavalent chromium site, the project field team organized a chromium-themed event. “Chromaritas” (complete with labels), <5 NTU vials of blue agave juice, Tyvek coveralls, and yellow hazardous waste bag tablecloths were used for the celebration along with dessert “samples” from frequented eateries in proximity to the site.? Total chromium is comprised of hexavalent chromium and trivalent chromium. Hexavalent chromium is a known human carcinogen and common industrial chemical that is highly soluble in water compared to trivalent chromium, which is generally considered less toxic.?The oxidation state of Chromaritas is unknown. #collaboration

H&H is working with a developer to safely revitalize land historically used as a municipal landfill in the 1950s and 1960s. As part of the future building’s deep foundation system, piles were recently driven through over 20 feet of debris consisting of plastic, wood, paper, glass, and metal. In addition to the unique geotechnical challenges, proper management of soil, groundwater, and landfill gas will be critical to the safe redevelopment of this property under the North Carolina Brownfields Program.?#EnvironmentalAssessment #VaporIntrusion #Brownfields
