The Harrison County Economic Development Corporation works with other state and federal organizations to promote the many advantages of the region. For companies looking to expand or relocate, the area provides countless business and quality of life advantages. Harrison County is located in the north-central region of West Virginia with nearby major centers including Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania just 100 miles north. Harrison County is midway between Washington, D.C. and Cincinnati, Ohio, and provides many of the amenities of these and other larger metropolitan centers. Harrison County has zero percent tax-increment financing available, a stable workforce, extensive fiber optic networks and access to North Central West Virginia’s longest commercial runway. For people moving to the area, housing is affordable, the crime rate is low and amenities like spectacular outdoor activities cannot be surpassed.
