We are very excited to announce a new addition to our general surgery team. Karen Johnson Brunkhorst, MD will be joining the team at General Surgery Associates in early April. Dr. Brunkhorst completed her BS at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, AL and received her MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, in Birmingham. Dr. Brunkhorst completed her residency at University of Louisville. Today we recognized our newest Daisy Award recipient, Becky Walters, RN. Becky is a nurse on our Transitional Care Unit. Becky was nominated by a patient’s grandson who said about Becky, “the empathy and love she exhibited towards us was something we have not encountered before.
