It is with great sadness that we share that one of our esteemed share holders and board members, Byram “By” E. Dickes has passed away. By was born into the agricultural industry, being the first son of a farming family in Huntertown, Indiana. He went on to attend Purdue University, serve in the US Navy, and earn a degree from Harvard Business School. He took over ownership of GTI in 1987, guiding Harris Seeds from a small, regional, home garden mail order company to a successful multi-channel provider of top-quality seeds to food growers across the country. He is succeeded by his son Scott Dickes, Chairman of the Board of GTI, who along with our CEO Ken Wasnock, will continue to lead the company.?By and his family and the Harris Seed family were always one and the same, and his presence, energy, and inspiration will be greatly missed.
