OCE’s Household Hazardous Waste Team operates a collection site dedicated to safely disposing of hazardous materials for Harris County residents, outside of incorporated City of Houston limits. Protecting Freshwater Mussels in Harris County Before breaking ground on the new Northpointe Boulevard Segment 1, the CPI Environmental Services Group, led by Brady Johnson of the OCE, is working diligently to protect a vital yet often-overlooked species—freshwater mussels! ?? With several species now classified as Threatened or Endangered in Texas, their presence could require a critical relocation effort. If detected, experts will intervene to ensure their survival—helping to: ? Safeguard water quality ? Support fish populations ? Preserve the delicate ecosystem balance This effort underscores OCE’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible development in Harris County.
