We are pleased to announce Kelley Matieriene joined our HW team Thursday, October 17, 2024, as a full‐time Supervisor. Kelley graduated with her accounting degree from Andrews University (Michigan) and is a CPA licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. She began her career in a private accounting setting, made the change to public accounting, and has not looked back. Kelley most recently worked at McLean, Kohler, Sparks & Hammond “MKSH” (Maryland) and previously spent nine years at JDF & Associates “JDF” (Maryland). While at MKSH & JDF, Kelley also worked six years at Intuit as a Seasonal Tax Manager. Her prior experience includes tax services to individuals, partnerships, and corporations, along with planning for high-net-worth individuals. Kelley also reviewed tax returns (primarily 1040s) and was involved in project improvement teams. We are thrilled to welcome Tim Davis, EA, to our HW team! Tim has joined us as a full-time Supervisor, bringing a wealth of experience to the table. A graduate of Central Connecticut State University, Tim has been a licensed Enrolled Agent since 2015. With a background in public accounting, Tim's career began as an agent with the IRS, serving clients in various capacities. Tim's expertise includes individual, partnership, corporate, trust and estate tax returns, GAAP accounting, sales and payroll tax returns, and financial statements preparation. He has also contributed to process improvements, bookkeeping, tax return review, and mentoring new team members. Beyond his professional commitments, Tim is actively involved in the community, serving on the board of directors for two non-profit organizations: SACCEC and FACT. We are pleased to announce Gerald Davis joined our HW team Tuesday, September 3, 2024, as a full-time Staff Accountant. Gerald is a graduate of CCSU where he received his MBA and has been working in public accounting since obtaining his undergraduate degree. He most recently worked at Miller Moriarty & Company, LLC in New Britain. His prior experience includes both accounting and tax services. Gerald prepared individual returns, and has also worked on businesses, account reconciliations and financial statement analysis. We are excited to announce that KellyAnn Goodall-Kissoon has joined our HW team as a part-time bookkeeper, starting Monday, August 5, 2024. KellyAnn is currently pursuing a postgraduate certificate in Accounting and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UCONN. With extensive experience in bookkeeping, including payroll, sales tax returns, and other quarterly filings, she has also prepared tax returns for individuals and small businesses. Having spent a decade in the banking and manufacturing sectors, KellyAnn's most recent role was at Miller, Moriarity & Company, LLC in New Britain. She is actively working towards her EA certification and will be instrumental in bookkeeping and tax return preparation. We are delighted to announce that Steve Gillette has joined our HW team as a full-time Staff Accountant starting July 1, 2024. Steve is currently pursuing his Master of Accounting degree at UCONN and holds bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Economics from the University of New Haven. His journey to this role is unique, having served in the Marine Corps as an Infantry Anti-Tank Guided Missileman before transitioning to a career as a Police Officer in Glastonbury, CT for over six years. Beyond his academic achievements, Steve is diligently preparing for the CPA exams, with the first one scheduled for mid-December. His diverse background and dedication make him a valuable addition to our team, and we are thrilled to have him on board. Dana has been an integral part of our team, initially joining as a part-time Staff Accountant on May 13, 2024, after excelling in intern and administrative positions within our firm. Dana's journey with us began as an intern during tax season, igniting his passion for public accounting. A recent bachelor's in accounting graduate, Dana is now pursuing a master's degree, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and advancement in the field. Throughout the summer and fall, Dana will continue to contribute part-time to various projects, leveraging his expertise and enthusiasm.
